One more day.
Ok, nothing grand. Just tomorrow I work, and I'm off Friday to head to yon local gaming convention, and will be back around Sunday. Morning, most likely.
Now, the Con I'm going to, MonCon, isn't very big, and sometimes
the weekend I spend there are kinda dull. But, I like the idea of getting away for a couple of days. I raid the Dealer's Room for whatever book I can't find locally, and generally game and talk to others and sneak off to the enarest diner at 2 AM on Saturday for the cooler conversations.
Also, it's a Gamer Convention. In the Hotel, I get the warmest showers. Let's face it, they're gamers, and hygiene is not on a lot of people's priority lists. :)
Though, one of the games I play in locally most of the time wants to hang out on Saturday, and get on with out campaign. I've donated my hotel room for the night, since by Saturday night at Moncon I'm bored shitless anyway. Figure order out for pizza, BS a lot and game, and advance that GM's plot even if it's by the miniscule portions he's given us the last few games. O:)
I'm bringing the new Notebook with me, too. Not the computer Notebook, just an ordinary paper one. Last time I went to a Con, it was where I got inspired for one of my better stories. Actually, my best story. (And yeesh, said inspiration could be there, again. Oy.)
I've noticed that. When I'm around a lot of creative people (And gamers, despite the body odor, are a creative bunch), it spreads. I think some of the cooler ideas I end up getting happen when I'm at a place like that. It's like one can tap into the creative energy around (Chi-like, in that perspective), and channel it into something tangible. Cool, huh?
Has anyboy else felt something similiar? Do tell me, so we can chit-chat about it online later. :)
I'm feeling better since my last post. WOrk's been bugging me, since I think changes are being made that will increase the workload, but I'm dealing with it. (As I told my boss: a few people here have problems handling the work we have now, and we're going to get more?)
But I'm not gonna let that bring me down. I have a lot to look forward to right now. Sometimes, the only thing stopping me is me, and I need to be a bit more open. I need to keep that in mind for a few things.
