A wish at the moment: I wish I was able to do a webcomic. See, I have ideas, but the main stumbling block is that I can't draw for crap. No scanner, either, and being on dialup leaves a bit of trouble with managing a website the right way, or at least the way I perceive that it should be done. But the fact I can't draw, that's the biggie.

And besides that, I'm the type who would want to get 4-5 months worth of strips done first before I even think of posting them, to give me some major buffer time in case delays in my own creativity come around.

But, even then, I still need to get ideas out there. So...

Panel 1: Establishing faraway shot on a medieval/D&D-type setting. Usual stuff: large imposing forest with some wicked-looking black tower seen in the distance. You know, your 'Tower of High Sorcery' out of Dragonlance or something. Use spikes on the top, or the shading to show that it's 'Evil! (tm)'. Shade the corners of the panel, to encase the top of the forest and tower in a circle in the panel itself.

Text balloon on the top: "He hasn't started the Rite yet."

Text balloon on the bottom: "But why? Why is he doing the summoning?"

Panel 2: Party of four adventurers standing near the edge of a cliff:

First from the left: Tough-as-nails female Monk type. Slightly pointed ears denote her as half-elven, and needs to be shown as female without looking near-naked. The look on her face is grim, determined, and all that 'we're going to kick some ass soon' expression.

Second from the left: The 'human Ranger type' has a spyglass (which explains the structure of the first panel), the top of a compound bow sticking up from the back, studded leather armor. Don't totally duplicate it, but go for that 'Hank from the D&D cartoon' look, for clothing.

Third from the left: This one should be a human 'big guy'. Not fat, just broad. Think 'barbarian' type, but make it clear that except for a dagger at his belt, he's not carrying any weapons, and nothing in the way of armor. This is actually the party mage, just with an abnormally high Strength score. ;)

Last one, on the right of everyone else: The Knight. Nice plate-mail armor, handsome, all the stereotypical knight stuff. Not bigger than the barbarian-mage, though. Shape his face as you want, but the Knight is meant to be the player's ideal so is just a shade too perfect, like most RPG characters can potentially be.

Monk: "What reasons are there? Money, power, and more of both."

Ranger: "And revenge against the King."

Barbarian: "Or that serving girl who spurned him."

Knight: "No. He's afraid."

Panel 3: One word balloon coming from the left as we give a close-up on the Knight's face. His index finger on his right hand is rubbing his chin, as if he's really thinking about something.

Word balloon: "Afraid, Sir Crys? That's-"

Knight: "I'm serious. There has to be something he's afraid of, that he doesn't feel he has control over. So, he conquers the known world so he has absolute control, and that way he feels safe. Whatever troubles him probably makes him feel alone, and frightened."

Panel 4: Close up on a real-world scene, to Crys' player, Troy, the protagonist of our piece. He should be pretty ordinary all around: dark hair, nothing impressive build-wise as he sits at the gaming table. One elbow is on the table, with his chin resting in it, and his expression is one of 'This has been done a million times before. I'm right, I'm bored, and I'm so far beyond the rest of you it isn't even funny anymore.' Word balloon from the left, and Troy has two connected word balloons, top to bottom.

Word ballon, again from the left: "What's with you, Troy? It's like this: The Mage is evil, he needs to be killed. He doesn't need a freaking hug! Use your imagination!"

Troy (first balloon): "Wow, Oh Mighty GM..."
Troy (second balloon): "I was about to tell you the same thing."

And there you go. My wierd little idea of a script. I have no idea how it's even done...
