I do my writing at my desk this way instead of multiple Journal entries because those of us who work here are not supposed to be using the Net at work outside of specific sites, such as the company web and UPS.com. Not that it stops any of the others, but I like the fact that I am not connected for that length of time.

Someone I was talking to last night brought that up about a MUSH player he knew. The player was a really good one (which I knew, having RP'd with him in the past), but he spends a lot of time online, and was burning out. And, what I was wondering what was considered 'a lot of time,' really. I know my own habits, and I admit to being online a lot when I'm home. Weekends, most weeknights. In the former, it's usually because I'm not doing much of anything if I haven't made plans, and for the latter, it's because I just got home from work and it's how I unwind.

Like I said, I never think about it. It's something I do, and something I enjoy doing. I've burned out before, and I'm trying to prevent the same circumstances from happening again. Still working on that. One of the suggestions (not to me, but the player discussed before) was they should step away from the comp for a while. This...it's not what I want to do right now. I am having fun.

What I should be doing at home tonight: Making sure all the files I have on this disk are on my hard drive. I use this disk a lot, and have a number of files stashed here (apps, journal entries, letters, ect). It's only around 780 KB stored on a 1.44 MB disk, but the amount of use I put into it...I wonder how long they're truly supposed to last.

And, Dad's coming home. See, he went into the hospital from work Friday (Closer to his job, which is 1/12 hours away, mind) with chest pains. The docs ruled out a heart attack, and did tests yesterday. They didn't find anything wrong, so they're sending him home today. Well, more specifically, my brother-in-law is supposed to go get him. I haven't been called, so I'm guessing he's not there yet.

Also, got an e-mail this morning from my Saturday gaming group. (Note to self: explain to people what games I am in, and when they technically happen in a given month. Makes it easier for those who keep track to do so.) Now, we play this one on the first and last Saturday of each month. Someone suggested an extra session either the 12th or the 19th. I admitted the 12th is a little short notice, but more as a break for the game's GM than anyone else. The 19th...dunno yet. Easter Weekend. The 20th, Easter, I know there will probably be dinner at my sister's, but my family gets informal with holidays most of the time, so I'll have time to spare. The 18th, Good Friday, the usual Friday gaming I'd be doing is cancelled (since the club meets in the basement of a church). Free time! :) So, this is why I could deal with the 19th, kinda. (And, that's the game I'm really into, and I do so love kicking more ass.)
