Okay, I'm going to have to start doing these in one huge post again. I didn't renew my account, so I'm pretty much left where I am with everything. Shame, because I couldn't find any icons I really liked to add, and with no camera to add my own, it doesn't help.

Otherwise, I spent a lot of my weekend gaming and such. But friday and Saturday, Rl, I just blanked. I couldn't get into the groove again, and it's with two characters I usually enjoy playing. Okay, one character out of the two, but even the fight scenes didn't do much to raise my sorely low happiness levels. There's a slight accomplishment in getting my chipped tooth fixed, and a cleaning all in under an hour, but still.

Yesterday, my online stuff went okay. Some scenes to get things done, and I managed to knock [livejournal.com profile] watermoon's socks off with a scene we've been planning on doing. Usual warning: When I say bring tissues, I mean it. :) It felt pretty cool to do it, and when the entire place pages you with birthday wishes when you log in it is such a pick-me-up. I know I have at least one scene tonight, and I need to do some RL stuff tomorrow night before I get home.

Discussed the Mutants and Masterminds stuff with Eric at Saturday's game. Not a lot of the details, because if he were running he'll be the first person I ask, natch. I don't want to convert Champions to M&M in his game, even if I think my PC might be more powerful/make more sense under the d20 system. But, he did give me an idea...

See, okay, a lot of our issues are time, game-wise. We gaem on Fridays, some saturdays, and some othjer people go for Sunday as well (I've begged out of Sunday games. 3 games a weekend causes me to freak due to lack of time, and I end up not relaxing). The Champions game Eric runs is the third Friday each month. What he suggested was this: we alternate. One Month is his game, one month is mine. That way, Chris (one of our players), gets his M&M fix, Eric gets a break (he runs that and the Shadowrun game this Friday), and I get to flex my creative muscles (translation: come up with stuff to scare my players. It's a given for when I GM.) I'm seriously considering it, this time, and can use some input to see if I should work it out. I will...no, wait, Eric has e-mail now. I'll e-mail him when I get home. I think I can do this...

Make the day go faster. Please, God. Not that work is such a horror, just that lo and behold, I don't feel like being here right now, but I need to be. Need the money, of course, and the benefits covering any possible dental bills should be fine. (Cleanings are free under the plan and minor stuff (like what I got) is like 80% covered with a $50 co-pay, thank goodness).

There was news at the COn I never found out about til I got home, and lo and behold. Grant Morrison signed an exclusive 2-year comic writing contract.

With DC comics.

Translation: His last issue of New X-Men will be #154.

*shuffles papers, takes the podium and checks the mic*

"Now, a contract for steady work with what I a assuming is a good amount of money is an excellent thing for any writer. I am in fact very happy for Mr. Morrison, and wish him well in all his future writing endeavors, and I wish him the best of luck and may he live a long, healthy, happy life."

*tosses the papers aside*

"Okay, all the niceties being said, I would like to add that I hope that bitter, mean-spirited little &*%^*&(^ stays the fuck away from My X-Men until the end of time. He's probably a nice person, but man oh man I could go on for hours on what I didn't like about his X-run. And not every current X-writer out there is doing a perfect job, but I hold a special loathing here just for him, because I'm probably the only one who sees through the 'so kewl' facade of his stories to see the hatefulness underneath. Be well, Morrison, live a healthy life and take your charatcer-depth-less freak-show with you. Especially Skank-Angel."

There. I feel better now.

*mutters about Morrison* You know, there was a reason I stopped reading.... Hrmmmm. Gee, I wonder what that was and when it happened.

He writes good stories, I've just hated his run on the X-men. In fact, I've pretty much hated everything since they made it into The New X-men. Ack, ack, ack.

And while I've liked Claremont's run on X-treme, this current storyline sucks. Hard.
