For a few minutes earlier, the power went out. There's some really nasty winds outside, which are screwing with the power lines. It's happened before. Thenm the phones died. Which, I have to admit, is the first time that's happened in the time I've been working here. It was odd, really. Though, the phones weren't dead for long enough, in all of our opinions. :)

And, they're talking about the playoffs still. Okay, here's my view. I want the Yankees to win, and for one simple reason. If the Yankees lose, I have to deal with one very Cranky Father. [livejournal.com profile] blytheteach knows what I'm talking about, since our dads are brothers, and rabid Yankee fans both. When they're winning, it's all good but when the Yankees lose out, you can see the little rain clouds above their heads. It's only worse when the Giants are playing their football season, especially around the playoffs.

Also, it looke like Mike will cancel his game saturday, due to a lack of players. I begged off, saying it was my niece's birthday party. Not that I am sure Sami is having one, but her birthday is tomorrow, and I did at least want to drop off a birthday card. But, Mike's game...(Munchkin 3.5 Forgotten Realms)...kinda blows. I mean, I heard after the last game he asked the players for criticism. I'm glad he asked after I left, but the players felt he should be more focused. A lot of the plot revolves around us getting items for the paladin, and her freaking holy sword is intelligent, can speak, and seems to be the starring PC in the game. Run by the GM of course. This Mike is the same one who, last Friday in another game, ended up with his Elf Archer landing into a black pudding, and losing almost all of his items from acid damage. His exact words "You might as well kill the character if he doesn't have all of his stuff."

Yeah. One of those. Roleplaying...nah, not really an issue. Even the GM said he was acting like a child over it. I just avoided it. Not my game that I was running, not my PC, not really my problem. I mean, it's one thing if the character was killed. But to flip out because you lost your own items because you did something stupid (proof that having the highest initiative score isn't always a good thing)...well, I lost what little respect I had for him at that point. As for the game Mike is running, two people have a wedding, Eric has a Great Adventure trip, I have a niece's birthday (Translation: I have things I'd rather be doing), and...yeah, there's still 4-5 players left, but sheesh.

I think I want out of the game, but I would find myself with a lack of something to do that one Friday. But, a lot of the players aren't really into that one campaign...

And, it's Wednesday. New Comics Day. Cool, huh?
