dewingedI just realized that Eric's Champions game is this Friday. Now, Eric is a fun DM, overall, and I look forward to the...whimsy with which he runs his games, mostly off the cuff as it seems to me. But, okay, there's a problem. There's this one player, James, who everyone in the group despises. I've told Eric before that I find him offensive, since he's one of those alleged intellectual types that uses large words as a cover for petty prejudices. He's obnoxious, loud, and his laugh makes me want to rip my eardrums out. But, that's not the worst.
He smells.
Now, I know it sounds childish the way I say it, but it's true. The man truly reeks, in that 'Shower? What's that?' sort of way. Worse than Sunday morning at a gamer convention...and I'm not the only one whose noticed. He's been banned from Christine's store (for trying to pick a fight with a customer as opposed to his stench, but that's been brought up), but he keeps coming to the open gaming club every Friday. He wants to trade Hero Clix figs with me, but I keep forgetting to bring mine, for some odd reason. ;)
I've spoken to Eric about this, since he's a club officer. But, he can't really kick him out or ban him from the place for being mouthy and obnoxious. If that was able to be done, there'd be no club members. But I swear, two weeks ago I walked into the Church Basement where we meet on Fridays, no one had the AC running, James was by the door, and the stench hit me like a physical blow. You could scent out the area he was sitting, he reeks that bad. All the time.
So, my problem: I want him out of there, with little to no risk of my status in the club itself. It's a perfect example of how the people I don't want in my life never go away, and the people I do want I never see. But that's a whole other post. How can I get him to Go Away, preferrably with giving him knowledge of his smell, and remove this mouthbreather from my life.
(That's funny. I heard Foomf use that mouthbreather term, and almost died laughing because I thought I was the only one who used it on a regular basis.)
