It's Mother's day, here, and we tend to keep things sedate. With Mom and Grandma's birthdays in the same span ot two weeks with Mother's Day, we tend to keep things small. I tend to go for the presents/money for their birthdays, and boxes of candy for Mother's Day, and let my siblings do as they wish. In general, we're bigger on birthdays than the parent days.
Yesterday, I went to the Store. There was a LARP, so I was there to socialize and set plans with Little John to see Attack of the Clones. Bob had left earlier to go shopping, and went home to rest, and Christine's sinuses were acting up so she closed the store at 10.
And I get home, and find out they found bone fragments of my cousin yesterday, at Ground Zero. I...was a little off as a result. I mean, I'm not sure what to think, you know? This is the first physical evidence since 9/11, and the family has, in a lot of ways, moved on, but it's still there. You can see it when it comes up in conversation. It doesn't really fade, and I'm not sure I want it to.
Otherwise, I'm keeping myself busy with laundry today, and tonight it's roast beef, which I think will be cool. Always is.
