The little things.

Ok, I've been getting an app reviewed on another MU*, with the goal of joining a team with some people I know. I kinda did it out of the blue, taking an old idea I had and adapting it to something that would fit the team in question. I know the IC leader of the team, and waited until I got his permission before I created the character. Which I did.

We were talking about it last night, and at one point I said: It'll be good. I'll make you proud.

Him: I know you will.
Him: You always do.

Three little words, and I can't find the words to express how much they meant to me in that moment.

Today wasn't all that bad. I went to Mike's for his BBQ for the 4th, and pretty much had a good time. Good food, good beer, and I got some swimming in. I think he's the only friend I have with a pool, so it's not like I'm in the water much outside of my necessary-to-function morning shower. I got a really good feeling from it.

Also, Mike lives a couple of blocks away from the Freehold Racetrack, where they have their fireworks every year. Through a huge gap in the trees from Mike's backyard, a bunch of us sat as night finally arrived, and watched the show. See, this is the first July 4th gathering I've been to in a while, and I liked being around people, you know? Also, the sonic explosions were setting off a neighbor's car alarm from across the street, so we were having a good chuckle off of that.

So, I'm in a good mood. Might be a lingering beer buzz, but I doubt it. Haven't touched a drink in about 4 hours, even though I was feeling funny after the first one. No tolerance. CHeap date. ;)
