Feb. 9th, 2003 01:19 pmWell, from the slight ruckus downstairs, it seems like the Washer and Dryer might finally be hooked up today in the basement. This is, of course, a good thing. It will take more time than the standard laundromat, but it also saves some money in the long run.
Sometime this week I get my tax check. WHich will be a comfort, as soon as I decide what to do.
That's where I am today: Not sure what I want to do yet. I've been out of writing inspiration for the last few days, though I'm trying.
Odd...watching Cartoon Network. See, the schtick today is they have NBA stars introduce their fave cartoons. And Shaq still has all the presence of a pile of belly-button lint, introducing the old Godzolla cartoon. (And And Godzookie, too. Scary stuff there.) But, one of the start advertised is...Spreewell, with the New York Knicks. I think that's the name, but I could care less about basketball. But, my point: I remember the big news story a few years ago about this guy. In his senior year in college basketball, he freaked at some call and tried to choke his coach. Now, he's all over the place with advertising deals. People forgot that more quickly than remembering Stone Cold Steve Austin is a wife-beater, and I wonder why that is. Of course, I hate Stone Cold as it is, and people need to be reminded (and when I say that, I mean 'hit over the head with a lot of blunt objects repeatedly').
I keep wondering what makes bad behavior allowed by people, or even tolerated. Like at work. I take calls from people who, if I said the same things to anyone over the phone like they say to me, I'd be hung up on. Or I should be, if I were that obnoxious. Of course, I keep wondering when exactly I started losing my nerve.
