10:18 AM-
So, it's Monday. And it's snowing again. In April. Now, it has happened before, of course, but I thought that after the winter we just went through, I thought we were all snowed out. Right now it's sticking to only the cars, and not the street, so in a nutshell, I'm not going anywhere. Not too bad, since I need to tire myself out majorly today. And, while it will be inconvenient, I'd rather it didn't stick, since then I wouldn't have to shovel. Simple enough. No shoveling...please, no shoveling...
And according to reports, it's going to be pretty much the same cold all week. And I was so looking forward to Spring this year. You know, actually seeing the sun is good for people. Not here. :P And, I am also reminded: get a glare screen for home. My computer monitor in my room faces the windows, and I think I ended up with a headache yesterday due to trying to RP through the glare. I hope those things work.
11:03 AM-
I decided to look outside. Not it's sticking. Dammit.
Now, don't get me wrong. The last time it started sticking this early we actually got to leave early, which I believe is possible. Though, the last time, back in October I think, was a full-on blizzard. This...is looking like it, since it's not supposed to stop til later tonight. So, I delve into that little fantasy where I do get to go home early, do some early shoveling, and relax with a cup of tea and my LotR DVD. Well...more likely I'll end up playing video games again, or finally catching up with
Queen of Wands, but I'll manage. :)
11:42 AM-
More snow. But I'll keep mum about it, since I normally am not fond of it when people just start talking about the weather. Did just talk to Carlos in my department, and he might lend me his Ghost in the Shell DVDs. I might take him up on it, depending on what my weekend looks like. Good to see that there isn't a complete fandom black hole where I live in New Jersey.
And speaking of. Saw an ad on Cartoon Nwetwork saying that they're bringing Family Guy to their Adult Swim. Thank you God. :) I know a lot of people say the show is a Simpsons clone, but I think it improved on the original. Stewie alone was worth the half hour of time to watch it. But, because Fox can barely keep any show on a regular schedule that wasn't on Sunday nights, it kept getting canned and coming back. That, while King of the Hill is still there. Ick. And, since Clone High is currently 'On Hiatus' from MTV...while they played Beavis and Butthead constantly for 5+ years. And people wonder why I have some serious issues with fandom in general, a lot of the time.
But, it's Family Guy. Note to self: buy videotape, soonest.
12:18 PM-
Still here. Though, it's odd because I am writing this out and will make it a long post in my LJ, even though I can post more than once a day and I do have a paid account. I...still technically have no idea who the mysterious benefactor was that gave me two months of paid LJ, but with the events of the past two weeks, I think I have a pretty good idea of their identity. ;)
Still here, would like to go home. Called Mom, and she said Dad was talking to the neighbors last week. Quoth the neighbors: don't worry about anything like shoveling or whatnot, my daughters and I will handle it. Mom thinks they might be getting a break from the rent for doing the maintenance. But hey, if that's what they want to do, that's their business. :)
12:52 PM-
Again, trying not to panic. Let's say, in a worse case sitch, I end up leaving here at six like I usually do on a regular day. This wouldn'yt bode well for me, for one. But, I might go out during my lunch at 2 and clean off what's already on my car, to get a head start. That is, unless something happens between then and now, and I am still trying to keep my hopes up. And it's almost working, too. :P
And the cow orkers (not a typo) are off again, trying to pile on more bad news to add to the weather outside (sorry. I know I promised not to discuss it anymore, but few other things are popping into my head at the moment. Well, there are some things, and one could probably guess what those are about. O:)
In a mood. Want to go home now, but no word on anything.
1:35 PM-
So, of course, one of the people I work finds my discomfort amusing, since they don't have to do the 40-minute drive I have on a good day. That makes me really, really angry, and I've found myself holding back. Still no word, and at this point of the day I doubt I will hear any word that will make leaving anything remotely constructive, especially since the snow has not let up yet. This is bad, but if I have to drive in the dark on top of this, I'll end up driving myself nuts.
Shutting this file down. I might post it at lunch or something, before I go clean the car off.
