Well, the system is back up, so things are going nicely while we try and get the backlogged stuff done. It's not too bad, and I finally have a breather. I don't hjave a whole lot to talk about right now. The game on Friday went...surprisingly well. I'm starting to think it's the fact we have 4 players and a GM, and it's a very loose game (loose as in 'fluff, exists so the players can let off steam, it's just for fun'. The lot of them are still the most repressed people I've ever seen.). Since, usually, the games I'm in have at least 6 players and up, this does let everyone have a touch of the spotlight, or even the option to refuse if if they feel that way.

And two of the players had to leave around 11 or so, and I was starting to crash around 11:30, so I got home way earlier than I thought, which was cool. Perhaps...I find myself having a little more fun than I intended, and I think it depends on the people.

Example: In the lousy high-powered game I was playing Saturday, we have 2 players who aren't in every other game. And they're funny. The wife, Erica, is hysterical, and very to the point. She doesn't give off an aura of 'I have /These/ so I deserve special treatment' like Kit does,' and she doesn't mince words, just the bad guys.

And I wonder...is that the source of my RL frustration? Is it because the games and characters change but it's the same players most of the time that's throwing my brain off? God knows I've tried to get games together on my own and have meet with little real success save for when I was in school. A lot of the time, I can enter a game and pretty much guess what each player will do. I know Brian will go for a heavy-damage hitter, and skimp on the personality. Eric will go all out with personality, and also create something with magic that proves the rules are his bitch. Ami and Karin will play a matched set of characters. John will serve the rules and the Almighty FAQ in favor of the other players having fun.

As for me...I'm the sarcastic one. Any o0f you who have RP'd with me know that by now. ;)

The system at work is down again. Bits and pieces come back on often, then go down again. Odd, because it's not the beginning of the month, and this seems totally random except for the fact that it is, indeed, a Monday.

Now, a worker from another department had called us, and said their name was 'Asia.' (Name changed by me, just to make sure.) But the idea is teh same: the worker was named after a continent. Now, this had us thinking about parents that naem their kids after states, cities, or countries, whatever.

Co-worker: Oh, then can I name my next grandchild New Jersey?

Another one: Nah, name her Arkansas, or Brooklyn.

Me: All right, then I'm changing my name to Bangkok.


I'm bad. Very very bad. :)
