I can sort-of hear the venting system in the background at work now, but I heard it turn off earlier in the day. The rain outside is...not quite helping, but my mood is surprisingly up considering the weather. (And no, that is not a call for you to try and bring me down. Please don't start with me today.)

But, it is merely chilly in here, which is where my thoughts are going to this afternoon. Still got some time til lunch, so I'll figure something out, then.

The computers in the library are down, but I've sent out e-mail to people who can either help before I get to my lunch hour, or be able to tell someone who will. Otherwise, Lunch is going to be very quiet, and very dull afterwards as I will not have much at all to read. I ended up getting here about 45 minutes after I usually do, because of some accident on another highway that backed up traffic where I was. I swear, I was going to go through my whole CD collection in my car before I would get out of there. I was sure of it. So perhaps this is not one of my better days.

While picking up a soda to keep me sane up through lunch, the cafeteria downstairs has this new thing: these little packets of Crystal Light, where they say add to 20 oz. of bottled water to make the stuff.

It reminded me of those little packets of Kool-Aid you got as a free thing in cereal boxes back in the day. Those, you take the little packet, and make 2 /quarts/ from it.

At 14, I thought that Kool-Aid packet was supposed to make one glass...

*glug glug glug*

15 years later, considering some of my own behavior, I'm not sure I ever came down from the sugar high with that.

Someone in my department was reading the news websites (as opposed to, say, working), and mentioned that Martha Stewart was making home-cooked treats while in prison.

Me: What kind of prison treats is she going to make. 'Bitch Biscuits?'

Thank yew, thank yew, I'll be here all week.

I had asked Albert, who isn't IT in our building but started here by temping with them, for help on the library computers here at work. He's on his lunch now, and I think he's heading downstairs just now to take a stab at it. He talked to Scott, who is the IT worker who is here today, though he knew as well as I did that God only knows when Scott will get to it. Not any fault of his own, but this is a good sized place.

Still...oy. I might be writing these entries today for my health, it would seem.

Well, it's 2:17 PM now, and I'm here at my work desk on lunch. Albert said within reason, so I'm gonna try and stay within those parameters.

Okay, so nothing was said just yet. I thought I was behind in the news.

On a semi-related note, if I seem to be in a more acerbic mood than usual tomorrow, this might be one of the impetui (does 'impetus' have a plural form?) for it. FYI.
