Ok, here's the situation. Kit (who I tend to refer to as 'the Girl in our gaming group') came to Saturday's game. Which happens, because she's in it. She passed around a note to all the over-18 players, announcing that she was, in January, throwing herself a party for her birthday, and to leave the 11th open for that occasion.

Now, first, my birthday came and went this past July, and these people did nothing. And they knew I had a birthday coming up. I made sure of that.

But, of course, since she's throwing a party, I feel obligated to get her something. This is where I'm lost, because I while I can think of a few easy things to get her, I'm wondering if I should, and if so, the dollar limit? I'm not even sure how...cool it is to throw oneself a birthday party in the first place.

WIll I go? Probably, but I'd need to ask her a few things first. I mean, if it's just a party of the local gamers, and there's a good chance of a game getting started up while at her birthday party, I might skip it. We're all adults; we should have a party like adults. Especially since that's what I really want for New Year's Eve anyway, and I doubt I will get. I'd be happier if she didn't limit it to the gamer-types, so I can actually socialize for once. With new people. That's a feat in itself.

Of course, my D&D books would be in the trunk, just in case...
