Sometimes, I hate having to get dinner every night. Especially since it's just me and dad, and he refuses to give me any input, instead putting the decision all on my shoulders. Hell, I'm getting bored with the same-old, same-old take-out.

I'm pondering Transformers. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's live-action and Michael Bay and we're supposed to auto-hate it and feel all trendy and such. But, I have to admit, if I were to go, I'd be looking at 'Are the Special effects cool? Are there lots of giant robots and explosions and nifty stunts?' I find myself, when I go to see a movie, thinking 'How should I approach it?' With Transformers, I'd be going for pure brain candy. Special effects. Not looking for Shakespeare...or even the original Transformers movie.

But, I'm still undecided.

I have tomorrow off, and I'm happy about that. I am...well, I did just get off the phone with dad, and he didn't mention my sister or brother making our plans or decisions for us for tomorrow like they usually do. And I have Neverwinter Nights 2 sitting in my computer untouched.

I have options, I think.

I posted nonspoilery about it last thursday or friday. I'd say it's worth going to. It's definitely mind candy and eye candy, but good mind and eye candy.

*smiles* I ordered my ticket last night - seeing it at 10am tomorrow morning :)

Have a great day tomorrow regardless of what you do, and I'll be online later if you want to do anything there!

Shit Michael Bay and Summer go hand in hand. Yeah yeah trendy hate.. etc. You know it happens. So I plan to see it, because honestly I feel the transformers deserve to look totally hot and live actiony. ANd .. I want big explosions.

However I'm debating ten dollars for a movie. :P

I'm going to see it tonight. I've been told that if you're expecting about the level of Independance Day then you're totally right one track. Action-y, funny and full of fight-y fight-y bits.

Just got back from it. You'll like it. I did and I had low expectations. More fun than Spider-Man this summer.

Still, best film of the summer for me was the Pixar rats, so make of that what you will.

See the movie. If even some of the biggest Bay-haters on AICN are publicly eating crow now, you should enjoy it. :)

Learn to cook. It's really not all that difficult and many things don't take all that long to make either.

Dammit, when the hell did my hate become 'trendy'? This will not do. I'm also wondering if you've been swimming in the wrong internet tubes, because I've been taking flak for refusing to submit to this movie's alleged awesome and win. This could boil down to the fact that my intense rage-on for Bay predates Pearl Harbor and originates from Armageddon, which people keep trying to tell me was a "fun, brainless popcorn movie". I take this about as well as we'd take someone telling us that The Holocaust never happened, or that F.A.T.A.L. is a better, faster-playing, and more realistic RPG than D&D that doubles as a light-hearted sex romp.

So you enjoyed The Rock? :)

Oh hell no. Before Armageddon, Bay was just a guy who specialized in vapid summer explosion movies. It was just a coincidence that waited to see his movies on cable, and they were very 'meh'.

I was fool enough to pay for Armageddon. That's two and a half hours of my life I could've better spent.. I don't know, sorting my comic collection, or driving a twelve inch railroad spike through my dick.

I don't have any problems with Bay. Never did see Armageddon or Pearl Harbor (his only failure as a movie so far). I did like the Rock, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and prequel, and The Island had some good parts to it. Transformers is what is going to really make his career unless he delivers a Pearl-Harbor-sized fuckup this decade.

I see he's working on a Prince of Persia movie.
