Rubik's Revolution

I feel slightly old seeing this.

Now, granted, I think you need bells and whistles and stuff like this to get the attention of consumers these days, especially the kid market they seem to be aiming for with this. It's just...they made a Rubik's Cube interactive. And Multi-player, for that matter.

When I was younger, a multi-player Rubik's cube just meant passing it over to the friend next to you to let them take a crack at it. And, the premise of the Rubik's Cube was so simple a child could get frustrated with it, use a screwdriver to pry the plastic pieces apart and reassemble it fully completed.

*looks sheepish*

Hey, I never saw it as 'cheating' so much as 'creative problem solving.'

Ah, memories.

Absolutely! I remeber one of the first things they taught us way back in TAG (Talented & Gifted)classes in elementary school was "Be sure not to make the mistake of imposing rules that aren't really there."

No one said you can't tear it apart and reassemble it, it's just that it's not the "conventional" way to solve it!

Same here. I was in the same kind of classes, but I think I've lost the touch in the last few years.

So, wanna hit the movies this weekend and you can show me why this "Coldstone" place is so awesome?

Saturday's a busy day for me. What did you want to see?

I dunno. Last time I went to the movies, I saw The Simpsons, but surely there is a film or two you might want to see.

I have no idea what's out.

Well, for you...Stardust. And if you wanna see Christopher Walken, there's always Balls of Fury.

Balls of Fury doesn't...ironically, sound like my cup of tea. Unsure about Stardust since the reviews have come back mixed, and it hasn't been meme'd to death all over LJ and beyond (see: 300, Borat, ect).

Still never saw Simpsons, and [livejournal.com profile] lightbearer has been telling me to go see Hairspray, besides.

I would not mind a second Simpsons trip if it came to that. Hairspray not for me since I am not a fan of the movie musical.

It seems that's what we've come to. An accord?

But of course.

Then of course, there's the hulk method. Throw it at the ground so it hits right on a corner and the projected force causes it to explode into its component pieces. Then reassemble.

Or the popular remove the stickers and reattach them in proper sequence method.
