From [livejournal.com profile] talisbriscoe:

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you haven't been around for long, perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you for your interest in my words.*

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: 'Ah, there's so and so...'

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

And also from Talia, I ask 'Please.'

I like dogs. I mean really like dogs. I know my breeds like an encyclopedia, and I'm the one watching Westminster every year commenting on the new breeds that have been accepted into the American Kennel Club. I can't resist petting other dogs I see (I always ask first, of course!).

I have a cat now, but I already know what breed of dog I want to own next :) I've even picked out a name for her.

But seriously, I love dogs. I identify with them, and I always want them in my life. One day I'll be a full-time dog trainer again.

Parts dabbler and perfectionist, I have a habit of starting things over when I've made what I feel is a poor design choice, eventually getting bored, rinse and repeating when it comes to my computer RPGs.

As a consequence, there's actually shockingly few RPGs I've seen through to completion.

It's not terribly deep, I know.

I rode horses regularly - as in at least twice a week every week - from the time I was six to the time I was eighteen. I owned my own horse starting when I was nine, and rode both recreationally and competetively... mostly on a local level, but the summer I was thirteen I did well enough at a state-level competition to qualify for the regional one, and actually got to go; that was the year I rode at least twice a day every day all summer. I had almost no concept of going home after school to do homework or watch TV or whatever; I spent that time at the barn.

I rode less during my last year or two of high school when I no longer had a trainer and wasn't competing; I pretty much stopped when I moved out of town for my first year of college. The horse I'd owned for ten years had to be put to sleep while I was gone. I still blame myself.

After I moved back in-state to finish college I did some riding with my old trainer on her horses, and even competed a little, but I never really got it back. Now it's been years since I was last on a horse. I geek out over things like the Spanish Riding School in Vienna and the flying lead changes in the Lord of the Rings movies, but I think it's probably not likely that I'll ever do much riding again, for financial reasons and general lack of opportunity. Most of the time I don't think about it much, but when I do, I always feel like I've lost something.

I'm shamelessly addicted to casual games. No, really. I have Farm Frenzy and Tasty Planet installed on this computer even now, and I will probably sneak Betrapped! on at any moment, because 1930s Minesweeper murder-mystery makes me giggle. I've beaten Chocolatier three times, and can't wait for the sequel to come out.

And yet, I don't get the attraction in Halo. Sigh. ;D

I am so sorry and ashamed that the Myth-Weavers game bombed.

I saw Halloween IV at a slumberparty when I was in the third grade. I couldn't sleep without a light on until I was 12.

I miss camping. Unfortunately, I live in the wrong area for it, and I don't have the money for the proper equipment to go it alone.

I blame my dearth of creative output on a self-diagnosed case of ADHD. Without insurance to cover it, I'll probably be sticking to pre-gens until the end of time.

What a coincidence, seeing as I was going through my f-list seeing who I didn't actually know very well. Well in relation to you I love Heroes, (as my icon suggests). So that's one thing at least

A friend lent me a volume of Fruits Basket in June and now I am so hooked on Honda and the Sohmas it's not even funny. I just need to buy them all for myself so I can read them 24/7. I did get her totally addicted to Young Avengers in return though... bwahahaha.
