Yeah, it's that hectic around here. :P It should be even more interesting come tomorrow, since a lot of people take off for Good Friday. I relish the idea of getting things done to pass the time. ;) I wish I had the severe gall that some of my co-workers have and read at their desk when they're not supposed to, so I could get started on Mutants and Masterminds already. Kit wanted my opinion on the game, since she saw me buy it last night at Realms. That was a nice little side trip, since I got to look at new stuff, see the new minis Kit and Christine were painting, and buy things. Also, we got to talking about that Saturday game, since we're all in it, and the recent troubles with Mike (the whiny kid from my post yesterday.)
Now...okay. Told you the story yesterday. Christine finally caught up to her e-mail for the mailing list yesterday morning/afternoon. Now...let's see. Christine is the other original party member still alive, besides mine, and she is also Bob's wife. Now, us gamers, and most of the kid customers around the store know things. Bob is very, very slow to anger, so when he does get ticked it shocks people because we don't expect it. Christine is the hard-ass of the two, and she will happily admit to it. She saw the posts, and just went off.
One message she had for the mailing list around 1 PM yesterday, in response to one of Mike's complaints about missing the games because he hit another kid: "Mike, do you want some cheese to go with that bottle of Whine you have?"
Naturally, when I saw her in the store last night, I proposed marriage. I love that line, and I have stayed away from commenting on the sitch on the mailing list myself. I don't want to tick anyone off.
Christine, however, is happily taken, while I am extremely, blissfully, unimaginably estatically taken. *blush*
But, moving on. While at the store, I got a few updates. One, the kid who called Mike a fag was asked to leave the store. Answers that question, so I consider the issue dropped, in my mind. Mike, on that mailing list, was arguing it, and ended up saying Bob was lying, but not in so many words. Note: Never call someone a liar when their wife is on the mailing list.
So, Mike's banned for Two months now, instead of one.
I used a line from one of my favorite self-written stories, in talking to Christine about that: It was a very Zen message: What is the Sound of one whip cracking?
The rest of us, off the list, are breathing huge sighs of relief. And John, our GM, did say 'enough!' about the issue, which I respect a lot. He's gotten to be very good as a GM, and very diplomatic when it comes to such conflicts.
You know, people I know have some LJ entries set private to certain folks, for various reasons. I'm public here because the people I game with don't have Livejournal. I don't think any of them have ever /heard/ of Livejournal. (Though, with Kit, one never knows).
Thing is, I hope they do find this one day. Just to see the reaction. :)
