Something I really need to test, because there are things I still do not understand.

Okay. About people. Sometimes, people are given a choice, or options with something. Could be minor, or it could be something major, and most of the time, they get advice/hints/ect.

What frustrates me is this: Why, when given a choice, do people often make the decision that is the most...hurtful? I have seen people faced with some choice, and even after given multiple "Here's the safer/better/more convenient/more considerate option, and here's why" bits of advice, STILL choose the option that causes the most problems. It hurts to think about it, some times.

This happened once, way back on a game I used to staff at. We had a problem player. As a Guest, he was causing problems, and Staff knew about it, and were told, and all that. But, the Staffer handling that person's app approved him ANYWAY, and I ended up not RPing one of my characters for a few months out of a need to avoid them (Thing that irks me: Problem players are the least likely to log off. Ever.) But, that approved problem character got killed, finally. And he apped again. And it went on for weeks. Even after what happened the first time, and we all knew it. He even said at one point "If I don't hear about the app in 2 days, I'm leaving!" I marked the time, and sent it to the rest of the Staff with the idea "Hey, stall. He'll leave..."

But no, he got approved. Again And for a different subset of the game, caused all the same problems. Again. Up until his character died. Again.

And last I knew, before I left the place, he was apping. Again.

This is what I do not understand about the human condition. Why, in the face of such...evidence, are choices made that seem to make me feel...well, it makes me want to shake people and shout 'WHY!?!??'

Just don't get it. Need insight.
