This is not going to be one of my better days. Can barely blink without my thoughts being interrupted, either by the phone or the people around me. However, looks my my boss it out today (Yay, holiday short weeks!), which tends to be a plus. Also, looks like the 'entertainment' header under my company's Websense filters was taken off, so I can actually look at things I want to on the 2nd Floor free comps during my lunch. Of course, I wonder if I speak too soon.
I sent out my due-soon bills today, which should be fine overall. I have more than enough money to cover it, so I might treat myself to X-2 when it comes out on DVD tomorrow. Question: Usually, where's the best place to buy it for as little money as possible? New DVDs are usually on some huge sale for the first week or so. Haven't seen this movie since May, and I was so whipped into a frenzy over it.
Oddly enough, I didn't have high hoped when I heard a sequel to X-Men was coming. I mean, I really liked the first one, because I thought that Singer and company GOT it. They Got what it was meant to be about, the Theme. I wondered if a sequel wouldn't take away from that. So, praying started.
(explination: Kyle sitting in a movie theater, pressing forehead against folded hands whispering "Please don't suck, please don't suck. God? I'm not looking for the greatest movie ever made. Just Don't Let It Suck, is all I ask...")
Hey, it worked for the first X-men, even after hearing from multiple friends about how good it was. It worked for Lord of the Rings, even when
gamerguy said it was the best movie he'd ever seen. (I had some wicked fears over there being a live-action Lord of the Rings movie since the beginning, which did not end until I saw Fellowship for the first time). That whole thing, I'll save for a future post.

After week of release, WalMart maybe, or Costco or just buy from DDD.

Date: 2003-11-25 08:19 pm (UTC)Sometimes it comes out really neat. I pre-ordered Spider-Man and Attack of the Clones in the same order when they came out on DVD. Combined they came out to over $25, separately they did not, so I went for the same order. For whatever reason, Amazon decided to ship them separately. Both arrived in my mailbox the day they hit store shelves, complete with a label instructing the post office not to deliver it before that date. If I hadn't ordered a book to go with X2, I might have had the same thing happen this time, but the book needed to be packaged too, so it only got shipped out today to arrive later this week, probably Friday.
