Yeah, I totally narfed on updating/reviewing comics. I know I wanted to stick with it. Bah. Also, been keeping up with news, a lot of which I take with a grain of salt. But I will tell you, if you want a way to end up hate your hobbies/interests, go online. You will not be able to find a more solid group to piss all over your happiness than discussing things online. I have seen things everywhere lately. Message boards, news groups, mailing lists, and even LJ where I'm sure the poster's entire motivation is 'find something people like and tear it down for no other reason than to satisfy my own self-hatred.'

Bloody hell. If you don't like something, don't go on and on and on about it. Ignore it, and spend the energy into something you do like.

(Odd. I've seen sites like that. The 'I hate ' sites with a level of rancor I thought I had expunged from my life when I finally left GarouMUSH. My God, the work they put into something they dislike...it's sickening, really.)

I could go into comics ranting right now, myself. I see changes coming that give me a twitchy gut reaction, but I will wait for more solid info before I make an informed decision.

Edit: Addendum. Funny about the X-Books. The stuff people hate that Austen guy on Uncanny for (secondary mutation powers that make no sense, mispelling dead people's names, 180-degree characterization from issue to issue, kewl insertion characters) is the same stuff that they lick the piss off Grant Morrison's boots for. I bias towards neither, honestly: I'm not a fan of the writing of either, myself, for various reasons. It's sad, and funny, really.
