Okay, I'll need to pick up some things soon.

1) Shrek 2 soundtrack. If only for the bonus track. Wow.
2) Bond's next album. Eeeee! *fanboydance*
3) Okay...I don't read Batman comics (not that much money, and I spend enough on comics in a month as it is), and I despise Jeph Loeb (Don't get me started). But...the one story I keep hearing abour is Hush. Is there an affordable TPB, is it accessible to people who don't know the really really fine print on Batman, and is it good at all?

Hehehe....my bf bought the album for that track too. Jennifer Saunders' cover of that song is just fantastic...

And umm, Hush isn't available in TPB yet...only hardcover (and I think there's 2 of them to complete the 12 issues). Hopefully DC will collect the whole thing soonish...

The Saunders thing...grife, I loved that sequence in the movie. Totally kickass. As for Hush, if I gotta wait...no biggie.

I thought "Hush" was worth it, but due to weird design, I never paid for it. Do you need to be well-versed in all manner of Bat stuff? The weird thing about Bat stuff is, there really isn't a whole lot to it. If you've seen the Dini/Timm animated series regularly, you probably know all you need to know, plus that Jason Todd was killed.

As I understand, there will be a trade paperback forthcoming. No, you don't need to know much; in fact, that's part of the thing about it: it's a story to introduce you to most of the villains and heroes.

More research. HUSH Vol 1 softcover is out July 21.

Ahh, so they are milking the 12 issues into separate tpbs...that sucks..

Hush is pretty. *Desperately* pretty. You could drown in The Pretty.

The plot is...thin. This being Jeph Loeb, he sets up a 'mystery' that isn't solvable by the clues, and there are some dubious bits...but for the most part the characterization is okay.

I refer to it as 'the prettiest AU'; lots of sound and fury, signifying not-very-much in the long term. But it really is worth looking at, at least. ;) I'd suggest taking a skim through at some bookstore that doesn't prohibit loitering first.
