Okay, there's a local medical clinic, which has the virtue of being open on Saturdays. I got myself checked. Acid reflux, as I thought, so the doctor has me on Acitex, which I'm guessing is Zantac-like, to take before dinner, one a day.

Also, having a cute doctor poke me in the stomach wasn't a bad thing.

Doc: Does this hurt?
Me: *thinking* . o O (Not /there./ Thank you, Relaxed Fit jeans.)

But, they took a little blood anyway just in case.

At least you have meds to take. A former co-worker of mine had AR so badly that he dropped an obscene and unhealthy amount of weight.
