Jul. 18th, 2004 12:23 amOkay, the concert.
BNL rocked! I love them! They had Alanis come out and do a counterpoint-singing to 'Call and Answer' which was just very cool for me. The crowd was on their feet, Macaroni and Cheese was thrown (though not by me and mine) and my cousin
blytheteach and I got a lot of bonding time in, as well as with her fiancee and some of his friends.
I saw
hamstergal!!!!!! Grife, it's been SO long!
Also...what we've told the family:
blytheteach won a raffle, and got something cool!
What really happened: Some eco-type group was doing a silent auction for stuff. One of the items was an acoustic guitar with the autographs of Alanis Morissette and all the members of the Barenaked Ladies on it. My cousin and her fiancee...well, we never went back to our seats after intermission. They hung around for the auction to end, and I stayed with them. For...some amount of money I won't speak of, they got it.
5...4...3...2...1...SOLD!
I even said as much to her: You know, cousin. My eventual LJ post about tonight just gets more interesting by the second.
And hey, I found I can still sit/balance on a railing...even though I'm a week away from 29. I felt...young/right/real/LIFE by doing that, and I cannot explain why.
So, at around 10:15, mid-Alanis portion, we left. We had this guitar, and we're at a concert with a crapload of people. And we had seats. No way, we said. Like Alanis, but BNL was already on, which is who we were itching to see, so we left.
Found out at Friday's I still have the crappiest alcohol tolerance on Earth. But, not eating much at all all day might have assisted in that.
But I had a good time. And...
blytheteach gave me a birthday card...with the ticket in it. I was really touched by that.
