One of the things I have on my cable system is Toon Disney. Which is usually turned to to watch Gargoyles reruns, bless their hearts.

Though, right now, I'm watching the Black Cauldron.

You know, if the info lithera put in her LJ about Kingdom Hearts 2 is right, and that one of the new worlds Sora and company will travel to is the one in the Black Cauldron (the name of the land escapes me right now)...

The idea of opening up a can of high-octane Keyblade whupass on the Horned King just warms the cockles of my heart.

Not bad for what they were, though some snobs (at times I'm one of them) might claim the story was a ripoff of the Lord of the Rings. In fact, it was better in some respects - The characters were a lot more human.

Frankly, I'd rather see a Final Fantasy 9 world. Set during Kuja's attack on Alexandria.

That's a darn good question. Will the heroes be visiting Final Fantasy worlds in KH2? Something I'd like to find out.

Perhaps. But it's also a ripoff of Welsh myth (well, themes and names more than a direct ripoff) much like LotR was itself a ripoff of English legendry and folklore.

Still, I'd agree. Taran especially is often more human than many of the characters in LotR, with the occasional exception of Frodo, who even gives in to temptation in the end. Prydain was admittedly built to be both epic and accessible, and tended to sacrifice the first for the sake of the second, while LotR was written to be epic. Mmm, epic.
