Yep, it's that time again.

Something I noticed about last night's episode, 'Fight or Flight': No. Sylar. Now, that's enough to cheer me up to no end, but the rest of the episode happened to be really cool, and that helped. I'm pretty neutral on Maya and Alejandro; I don't hate them. But, if it ensures Sylar as an irredeemable villain not deserving of anyone's affection or any sort of redemption, I'd gladly throw them to the wolves. Necessary sacrifice.

Callous, I know, especially when I take great pains to have actual compassion. But my nightmares about this show involve Sylar getting something between This and This. It's like the people who worshipped Spike after That Incident in Season 6. I don't want that happening here.

But, anyways, on with the episode itself.

I hope Molly is all right. I'd rather her not die. I also do not believe in picking on small children. Though Mohinder has a brain fart and took her to the worst possible place in order to 'help' her. Mohinder was doing so well, too. And it beings Bob into things, and I'm finding that I am not fond of Bob's character, and his voice and mannerisms give me hives. Seriously.

Now, I was wrong about one thing: Matt didn't find an empty apartment when he went to Philly. Also, it's implied that he flew via Air Nathan, but I wish they had shown that. Matt does find his biological father, who is really the Nightmare Man, and how! Now, those were fun scenes, with Matt and Nathan (Nathan? You have to shave every day like the rest of us) almost killing each other while trapped in their respective nightmares. It was a chilling scene, getting into both Matt and Nathan's psyches. However, Matt's got serious parent issues. Like, following his deadbeat dad into another room, even after Molly pointed him out as the Nigthmare Man. And, fretting over Janice. If the baby is actually his, I can understand it. But, Janice cheated on him, so it's possible the Parkman baby is not his. Remains to be seen. Save that we might have to see Janice again. Dammit.

Also, Matt broke through to Nathan by throught projection. After this? Parkman's getting a serious telepathic upgrade. Awesome. :D

Peter's about to leave Ireland. Caitlin finally get a clue and get him to Open the Box, so we can move on from there. Caitlin and Peter are kinda cute, admittedly, and I liked how her brother Ricky defended Peter since he saw them swapping spit. Although, when Peter opened the box, he found his ID, and a pic of him and Nathan in tuxes with their arms over each other's shoulders. You...really don't want to know what I thought that looked like. *ahem*

Also, according to others, Peter's birthday is listed as being in 1979. So he's 28, while Nathan has to be in his early-mid 30s.

But, someone's on the hunt for Peter, and it's Elle (played by Kristen Bell). Elle was pretty cool as a character, and the electricity powers helped. Of course, Elle-the-character is also a major beeyotch with little compassion or consideration for others, since she char-broiled Ricky in record time (anyone see Ricky's corpse at the end? Ew.) Also, she's someone's daughter, and the running guess is Bob's. Which means her mother must have been hot as hell, and possibly blind because Ew, Bob, squick.

Between that, painting supplies in Caitlin's apartment, and the fact that Peter still has Isaac's power, those two are leaving Ireland and hitting North America. Looking like Montreal, right now. It'll bring them closer to the rest of the cast, at least.

Ando's still investigating Hiro's journey into the past, and we got a tiny bit of that story. Good enough, and I like how resourceful Ando is becoming on his own, as opposed to just being Hiro's tagalong. This season is letting James Kyson Lee (Ando's actor) shine a bit, which is cool.

And then there's Micah and Monica, who are all levels of adorable and actually fun. We learn Micah knows piano (Which is entirely in character, since Micah's being portrayed as a kid prodigy, and I think Micah's actor is a wee prodigy himself. Also, I don't pick on little kids, and Noah Grey-Cabey gets to show off his skills. Good on him.)

We also learn Monica doesn't just learn stuff from TV, but any skill she sees being done, like the aforementioned piano, and a hilarious double-dutch scene later in the show. Which makes sense to a point, but there is cooler stuff on TV skill-wise to pick up on as opposed to 'real life'. Like, in RL, if I looked around my office and I had Monica's 'muscle mimic' power, I'd learn...

Synchronized Ass-Kissing
Confrontation/Resolution Dodging
Really Poor Public Speaking Skills
Work Avoidance
Incessantly talking about divorce/kids in minute detail
Homophobia

And...well, that's not the most awesome of skillsets. By your powers combined, I am Captain Ignorance! Wonder at me as I fight crime by sticking my head up my own ass!

See? TV? Much cooler. And the fact that I said Monica should rent every Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Bruce Lee movie ever made to get serious butt-whoop abilities early in the ep, and she was watching some Bruce Lee by the end, that just tickled me. [livejournal.com profile] arctures mentioned she should watch the Olympics, and I said I would do the same in her position, like the gymnasts. But, I've never had to find an excuse to watch Olympic gymnasts, especially after 2004 redefined the term Hamm Sandwich for me. ;)

And then Mohinder showed up. See, I want to keep Monica around. I hope she stays. I like her more than a few of the other characters.

But, that's it for me this week. I had fun watching it.

Maybe, but the streets in the street sign are in Montreal. Blvd. Saint-Laurent is a major artery (some would say the major artery) of the city. In Paris, Saint-Laurent is only a street (Rue Saint Laurent), not the boulevard it is in the painting's street sign.

Now, they could still easily end up in Paris, but the painting is definitely Montreal.
