It's still early enough that I don't have to be at my desk yet, and I dunno, I think the 3-post a day limit for non-paid LJ members makes me a little leery of posting, in some ways. I don't even think about it much, I just post when the urge hits me. And there is that subconscious wish to actually have something to talk about, sometimes.

I was hoping to catch Clone High on MTV last night, since I think it's one of the funniest adult animated shows around, hands down, right now. I wanted to see them try and top last week's episode. I can't look at a box of raisins now without bursting into hysterical giggles because of that show. Alas, it wasn't on. There was some show called 'Punk'd,' where soem guys play pranks on celebrities and such, like mock-heisting their car or something. Let me tell you, that kid from Malcolm in the Middle has got some potty-mouth when he thinks his $350,000+ Ferrari has been stolen. And I'm still trying to puzzle out every single thing that is wrong with that sentence, right there.

Ended up going to a gaming session on Sunday. It's meant to become an Epic-Level game for D&D, and we're starting at 16th-17th level. Which means a few things. Namely, we get to test out prestige Classes, since our usual campaigns rarely get to high enough levels to warrant such things effectively. (Though, some of them are lately, but my highest-level character before this is a 12th level Halfling Wizard, and none of the Prestige CLasses I know of really fit him. Bah. I'll just hide behind the archers and cast kick ass spells that save the party's ass, as usual.)

And, it was an innocuous post by someone else (this one) that has had me thinking all the way to work today. See...I get this. I know exactly what they mean, here, which is where I find my amusement, as I think most everyone who is reading this would. But, in the good old Real Life, I firmly believe this could be said to almost everyone I know, and it will be met with little to no response (you know, like my character being out of the closet in that Shadowrun game from a couple weeks back. Not. One. Word. Dammit.). Another little quirk: I wear a Sluggy Freelance T-shirt that [livejournal.com profile] outlawcoon gave me the X-mas before last, and I get an odd look or twelve. No idea. They honestly have no idea what it means...

So, this Friday (because I'm getting bored with the Champions game we're starting up. New characters, new setting, and I'm already non-enthused), I want to conduct a little experiment, which is where I find I'm going to need the help of the readers who are seeing it here.

Simply put, I need catch phrases and net-jokes, sort of. Like...only things people who would really get into the Net would understand. Terms, phrases, character names. Examples: BubBun and Kiki, Giant Panda, 'I don't like Monkey!', All your Base...(please don't suggest this one. It's overplayed its amusement), 'Still Not King,' and 'SILENCE!'. Stuff like that. You know, how when you're online, and you can say a word or two and everyone knows what you're talking about. On the Net.

I want to see how much I can amke reference to this Friday at the usual gaming club, and see what kind of reaction I get. I will post the results, of course, but I think I need to make a point about it, definitely.

Please do. There's so much stuff out there I can make references to, but I know I don't know it all. :)

Mav. That's one that's only net-use and only found in certain genre's. I think I even have the story of how it came about somewhere around here.

True. I think I might have heard the story too. But, it doesn't translate to RL well, considering what it is. :)

Oh? Are you sure? How many times do people think you're talking to them when you're not. (actually says Mav from time to time)

I didn't realize that was the same thing. :)

Unfortunately, the only ones I can think of are GarouMUSH-isms, like 'TEH BIRD!!', or 'THE CLAW!'

What Sluggy shirt are you referring to?

I think you get 5 posts a day. They changed it from 3 when people complained, I think. Gee, could I sound any less sure?
