I was up a little early, which happens. Now, we keep a radio in the bathroom, usually for something to listen to while I'm in the shower, so I catch the station's morning show usually.
This morning's topic, the moment I turned the radio on: "Are there any trustworthy guys named Kyle?"
Of course, this resulted in numerous calls denouncing guys who have the name. Example:
Gum-popping high-school dropout bint: Yeah, like, I dated a guy named Kyle. He cheated on me *gum spanning sounds* and he drank!
(Of course, were I dating her, from the way she sounded, I'd drink, too.)
And of course, no Kyles called in to defend themselves. I might have were I not under gallons of running water at the time, and as a Jerseyite calling into a New York station, I was never going to get through.
But, that being the first thing I heard this morning, I know it's going to be one of those days...

Date: 2003-06-18 12:55 am (UTC)There is, generally, nothing worth listening to on a radio station that involves the movement of the DJ's lips in order to do anything but announce time, station ID, and what's about to be played. That includes emergency announcements, because they always get them wrong.
