Rain. Work was supposed to have a BBQ today, so it's going to be inside instead. But hey, free burgers. :)

Possible T-storms tonight, as a message for the online folks just in case I do not magically appear at my usual time.

I've been avoiding question memes. I plan to continue doing so, which is why I haven't put out a call for questions. I don't have the balls to talk about some things now when I know I should be doing so. Random questions are just not going to help that matter.

Something I found amusing: On someone else's LJ, they had a poll recently about the last movie people saw, or the last DVD they bought. One person responded, saying they felt embarassed by the questions. COnsidering the content of the previous polls...I didn't answer for my own reasons, which was that deep embarassment feeling. No one protested those.

I'm wondering...for this work BBQ, they're setting up a DJ in the cafeteria. This...could get loud. Or maybe it should. We could use some music around here. The people around me were discussing yearbooks. I know I still have my high school ones. SOmewhere either in the absement or in the top of my closet. And I can swear I haven't looked at them in five years, at least. It saddens me; my dislike of looking at my own past.

Yep, I'm that bored.

Now, in preparation for my trip to San Diego (which involves trying not to get worried about a 6 hour plane flight), I decided to stop reading comics. I turned in my new Pull List to the shop yesterday, and put the books I had saved back, save for two. Mostly because I really wanted to read them and discuss them with iceraver as I usually do. ;) So when the time comes I'm going to have a nice stack to read.

As for the ones I got, with Spoiler-free thoughts:

New Mutants: The art needs a little tweaking. If I were just going by the art, I wouldn't like it but the writing more than makes up for it. See, this book has young mutants that are different from the crowd in NXM on one simple basis: They're likeable! The Special Class I want to nuke from orbit, the New Mutant students I've seen so far, I want to see more of. I actually give a damn about the characters. And more Dani Moonstar is a plus.

Again, score one for the Forces of Good.

Uncanny X-Men: Okay, I won't say anything about this. kaibara, I expect to hear from about this book very soon. This will, of course, involve a lot of yelling.

Blah. Bored. Still feel like a hostage most of the time. Like I'm lacking a choice in a great many things, or that I lack the power to affect what I need to to feel safe. Because in some aspects of my life, I do not feel 'safe.'

Oddly enough, the relationship I am in is the safest thing in my life at the moment. It's one of the few things that I find comfort in, without letting it become a crutch. It's great, pure and simple. I love him. I really, truly do. *insert mushy happy sigh here*

Mmmm. Okay, the food's not ideal, but it's good, and I feel all sated and stuff. Add to that that I go to lunch at 2, this gives me some extra time to play with today. Not that I can do a whole heck of a lot since an hour is still an hour. My job, unfortunately, doesn't have Naptime. I wonder...would it work if they did? Nah, because we'd have to stay another hour or something, which would suck. Course, I need to find something to read in the meantime, and one of the comic strips I really like is in the Crossover With Strip I Don't Care For...From Hell.

(The last sentence is meant for graveyardgreg> to tell him which comic I mean without directly naming names, and proving that it isn't Gaming Guardians and Powergamers I'm talking about, here. Both of those, I like.)
