-11:36 AM-

I was up a little early, which happens. Now, we keep a radio in the bathroom, usually for something to listen to while I'm in the shower, so I catch the station's morning show usually.

This morning's topic, the moment I turned the radio on: "Are there any trustworthy guys named Kyle?"

Of course, this resulted in numerous calls denouncing guys who have the name. Example:

Gum-popping high-school dropout bint: Yeah, like, I dated a guy named Kyle. He cheated on me *gum spanning sounds* and he drank!

(Of course, were I dating her, from the way she sounded, I'd drink, too.)

And of course, no Kyles called in to defend themselves. I might have were I not under gallons of running water at the time, and as a Jerseyite calling into a New York station, I was never going to get through.

But, that being the first thing I heard this morning, I know it's going to be one of those days...

Something else heard on the way to work this morning. One: Clay Aiken's new song is very, very cool in that 'romantic music to dance to at a wedding' sort of way. Which is what I like hearing sometimes. But, the DJs started talking about an interview with Clay in Rolling Stone recently. From what was quoted, Clay said "I like girls."

I hate liars. Even worse, I hate bad liars.

Just like Elijah Wood being seen with his hand in the back pants pocket of Franka Potente (the star of 'Run Lola Run.' Wonderful movie, BTW), He's Not Fooling Anybody!

It's kinda depressing, really. People still have to hide and lie and all that rot. Or, at least, I'm pretty sure they're lying and hiding. :)

Sigh. Well, one of the co-workers, Neal, told me that he's leaving. He is doing school again in a month or two, and doesn't have the time to balance it with work. Granted, it's not like he does much at all at thi9s place, far from it. VERY far from it. But, he is cool to talk to. Same shows (Family Guy), same movies (Run Lola Run, and it was him who found the correct spelling of Franka Potente's name for me in a previous post), and just that he wasn't like everyone else in my department (read: lame, shallow, stupid.)

I dunno. I've always had this allegory/running gag in my life, no matter where: The person I want to speak to/be around will never have the time/doesn't feel like it/is someone I never see again, but there are always people that creep me out/scare me/make me want to conquer Humanity to wipe the plague off the planet never Go Away. In my RL gaming, I have seen this happen again and again to a point where it just terrifies me a lot of the time. It's almost a sixth sense. "Okay, this guy's dull as shit. Might as well reserve a fucking chair at the table." I can...tell, sometimes.

On the way home, I had the Radio on, mostly because I forgot to seek out my Tarzan Soundtrack CD like I wanted to last night.

Heard a song...I knew those lyrics.
Heard the singer...I knew that voice.

It was a cover.

The singer: Mariah Carey

The song: Bringin' On the Heartbreak. Originally done by Def Leppard.

Mariah Carey is doing a cover of a Def Leppard song.

That thought alone...I swear to God, I /felt/ three grey hairs sprout up on my head.

Okay, not a big deal, just annoying.

When one webcomic you love decides to have a crossover with a strip that you just don't care for. Feels like I'm being pushed, again.
